Real Estate is a very competitive and fast paced business in which every listing counts. We’ve put together a few cost-effective tips to help agents market their clients properties in a more professional way without busting the budget. Let’s start with some simple photography ideas that will give your listings new life!
Professional “looking” photographs are a fantastic way to develop initial interest in the property you’re trying to sell. Buyers will often ‘na’ or ‘ya’ when searching online if pictures are dark and grainy. This is usually caused by poor lighting. A simple solution is to go to Home Depot and purchase 2, “150-Watt Incandescent Clamp Light”. Buying two lamps will limit shadows and remove graininess. It’s also important to use only a 60w – 100w equivalent soft-white LED light bulb to limit heat since you will be setting up in multiple rooms. Please remember to let them cool down before storing.

Another simple and free way to give your listings more exposure is by taking to social media. This is also where your new property photo’s really come in handy. Connect with your company’s marketing team to get upcoming “open houses” listed on their official Twitter, Facebook, Google Plus, You Tube, Pinterest and Linkedin pages. Then cross-promote on your personal pages. This will increase your networking radius with minimal effort.
Getting a potential buyers attention when it comes to “Open Houses” can be a job in and of itself. That’s why I recommend “feather flag signs” since they’re extremely effective, highly visible and light-weight. Agents shouldn’t need more than one or two. Just doing a quick search in Google brought up several cost effective options for under $100 each. Shop around for the best deal and keep quality in mind.
